Israeli opposition heads agree to form gov’t, boot Netanyahu out

A last-minute coalition deal by Israeli opposition parties looks set to end Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s 12-year reign.
Yair Lapid, the leader of the centrist Yesh Atid party has informed President Reuven Rivlin that a coalition of eight parties had been formed.
Under the coalition deal, the head of the right-wing Yamina party, Naftali Bennett would serve as prime minister for two years and Lapid the final two.
But Israel’s parliament, the Knesset still needs to vote on the deal.
