Life in Beijing is slowly returning to normal after authorities lifted most Covid-19 prevention measures, even as a surge in new infections continues. Since December 20, 2022, office workers have been allowed to return without having to provide a negative Covid test. But while offices are reopening, not everyone is rushing back, affecting restaurants in Beijing’s central business district, which relies on office workers for business.
