The BBC has been told that President Putin relayed to his Turkish counterpart that he’s close to an agreement with Ukraine – on at least four of Russia’s six demands.
One of Russia’s conditions for ending the war is that Ukraine doesn’t join Nato.
The BBC’s Laura Trevelyan asked Ukraine’s ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, whether it’s true that negotiators are close to a deal.
