Voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections will be held on February 8, 2020. Counting of the votes will take place on February 11 and the results for the 70-member Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections will be declared the same day.
Babarpur seat in North East Delhi, once a stronghold of BJP, is the seat of Delhi Government minister Gopal Rai. Gopal Rai is a minister for Employment, Labour, Development, General Administration and Irrigation in Kejriwal Cabinet. Gopal Rai is fighting for a third-time from this Babarpur Seat. He had won this seat in 2015 Delhi Assembly Polls by defeating BJP candidate and four-time MLA Naresh Gaur. Gopal Rai and Naresh Gaur are once again contesting from this seat. Congress candidate Anviksha Jain is the daughter-in-law of District Congress President Kailash Jain.
