Indonesia's Ibu volcano erupts twice, spewing red-hot lava

Indonesia’s Mount Ibu has erupted once again, forcing thousands of people to leave their homes. Authorities in West Halmahera have evacuated seven villages. Weeks of intense volcanic activity have produced ash plumes as high as seven kilometers. This is the latest in a series of eruptions recorded since May.

Al Jazeera’s Barnaby Lo joins live from Halmahera on the Indonesian island of North Maluku – not far from Mount Ibu.
