A South Korean city has arranged a mass blind-dating event, in hopes of addressing record-low marriage and fertility rates across the country. Figures for both hit record lows in 2022. Experts say the fertility rate is so low that South Korea won’t be able to keep its population size stable. South Koreans surveyed have cited the expenses involved, as well several social factors as reasons for their growing disinterest in marriage and parenthood.
