Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was laid to rest in a Moscow funeral on March 1, 2024 as thousands of mourners gathered outside and chanted his name. A fierce critic of President Vladimir Putin, Navalny died in an Arctic prison where he was serving a three-decade sentence on charges his supporters described as politically motivated.
