Israel assassinated three sons and four grandchildren of Hamas’ political leader Ismail Haniyeh on Wednesday.
It happened at the Shati refugee camp in the north of the strip.
Israel says his sons were Hamas operatives, and that it targeted a vehicle they were travelling in.
This attack comes at a time when ceasefire talks are being held.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Haniyeh said the killings would only strengthen Hamas’ resolve.
He also said it would not affect the group’s demands in ceasefire negotiations.
Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst, Marwan Bishara, says that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is humiliating the United States and defying the international community at large by continuing to pound Gaza and expanding the war regionally.
