Singapore is preparing to hang two drug traffickers this week, including the first woman to be executed in the city state in nearly 20 years, according to rights organisation Transformative Justice Collective. The group identified the 45-year-old woman as Saridewi Djamani, who was sentenced to death in 2018 for trafficking about 30 grams of heroin. Local rights groups have urged the government to halt the executions, the first to hang a 56-year-old man on July 26, 2023, followed by the female convict two days later.
