The G20 summit wrapped up in the Indian capital New Delhi on September 10, 2023, as India handed over the bloc presidency to Brazil. The bloc adopted a leaders’ declaration that avoided condemning Russia for the war in Ukraine, but instead highlighted the human suffering that the conflict had caused. Both the US and Russia praised the final statement, while Ukraine was disappointed with the resolution. China’s leader Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin both skipped the 2023 summit.
